The Covert Dock
The Covert Dock is probably our most beloved invention. It was our 2nd Kickstarter project that launched at the end of 2019 - near the peak of “3rd party dock bricking” fear. We spent a lot of time studying the results of 3rd party bricking and were able to figure out the root causes - our findings were documented both on Reddit and on ArsTechnica. Since then we’ve sold over 130,000 Covert Docks and it's been our most popular product since (there’s been 130M Switches sold globally so we’re only at 0.1% penetration). So what’s new about the Covert Dock 2 you may ask?
50% More Power
The Covert Dock was initially designed with a 30W capacity, enough to effectively power devices like the Nintendo Switch, which only uses up to 18W despite having a 40W adapter. However, newer devices like the Steam Deck, iPads, and laptops now require more power due to larger screens and batteries.
With an upgraded 45W output, the Covert Dock 2 can quickly charge a wide range of portable devices, making it a versatile and powerful charger option.
Enhanced Charging
Unlike most chargers that only charge USB-C and USB-A ports, the USB-A port is also is actually linked up via hub to the USB-C device. This means you can use it to charge your Apple Watch or other legacy USB-A devices you may have, but it allows you to connect a plethora of accessories to your main USB-C device whether that be a console or computer.
4k Support Across All Devices
The Covert Dock not only charges high-power devices but also supports 4K60 output to your TV. This feature exceeds the capabilities of the standard Nintendo Switch dock, allowing you to enjoy games and videos from various devices in higher resolution.
